Machine stops during operations

Issue

Machine stops during picking or restocking. The Trakkit machine may stop unexpectedly while it should be picking stock or restocking bins. In most cases, this is caused by the machine hook missing a bin handle.

Symptoms

  • Machine stops and does not continue the job

  • No obvious error message on the main screen

  • Operation halts during picking or restocking

Likely Cause

The machine has missed a bin during movement. The Y‑axis hook (the part that pulls bins out) has moved to the outside of the cradle without a bin attached. When this happens, the system will stop to prevent further errors.

How to Confirm

  1. Open the Admin Panel (available from the normal screen or restocking screen).

  2. Check the Y‑axis servo value.

If the value is 305 or ‑305: (or near to these values depending on machine config)

  • The hook is at the outside edge of the cradle

  • This indicates the machine likely missed a bin

Go to ADMIN

Find SERVO Y axis value (in this case -305)

Resolution (Quick Fix)

  1. E‑stop the machine

  2. Enter the machine safely

  3. Locate the missed bin:

    • If the hook is on the right, the missed bin will be on the left

    • If the hook is on the left, the missed bin will be on the right

  4. Manually pull the missed bin out to line up with other bins, usually only 10mm or so.

  5. Exit the machine

  6. Turn the machine off at the isolator

  7. Wait 10 seconds

  8. Turn the machine back on

Expected Result

✅ The machine should resume normal operation after restart.

Notes

  • This issue can occur during both picking and restocking

  • No parts replacement is required

  • If the issue repeats frequently, escalate for further investigation
